72 hours in Malta

Recently, Zentive had the absolute pleasure of visiting the stunning island of Malta hosted by EC Meetings, Mundus Representation and Conventions Malta.

Given the location, it’s generally a perfect destination for winter sun. However, we were unfortunately met with an unusual storm which meant the itinerary changed last minute to a 'wet weather contingency'.

With this in mind, we were lucky enough to sample the BEST of what Malta has to offer should the weather make a turn for the worst.

Grab yourself a coffee (or a wine) and prepare to be immersed in what the MICE Industry describe as ‘The Isle of Venues’.

Harbour drinks reception

Forget your standard welcome drinks reception at a hotel/venue. Upon arrival into Malta, we were greeted by a stunning drinks reception on the harbour. Perfect for any group size, the views of the harbour are not to be missed.

Prosecco paired with canapés breaks up the journey from the Airport and lets guest stretch their legs whilst enjoying the scenery.

AX The Palace Hotel

We were lucky enough to be hosted by AX The Palace Hotel for our accommodation which is a stunning 5* venue with numerous restaurants and meeting facilities. This hotel is ideal for group accommodation and dinner in their TemptAsian rooftop restaurant.

A tasting menu can be provided for the group offering the best selection the chef can offer.

Rolling Geeks

Thinking of a sustainable way to see the sights of Malta without ending up with sore feet?

Look no further than the Rolling Geeks. This sustainable alternative to a jeep safari covers the main sights and attractions around the 3 cities.

This activity can also be paired with the iPad exploration tour to allow for a fun and interactive team building session.

Local Cookery Class

Why not immerse your group in a local culinary class? Situated in the heart of Qormi, Razzett L-Antik offers group farmhouse cooking classes which lets the team prepare a local 3 course meal for their lunch allowing for quality informal networking and team building time.

iPad exploration

An alternative activity for the group is an iPad exploration tour to learn the history of Malta and see all it has to offer. This can be done on foot or in Jeeps with a designated driver to allow for a wider area to be covered. To make the event as sustainable as possible, why not pair this with the Rolling Geeks activity to ensure your carbon footprint is as low as possible?

Winery tour

For those guests who are less active, Winery tour of Ta Betta may be the ideal activity for them. With the tour concluding in wine tasting paired with local cheese and ham, this is an activity not to be missed.

A perfect addition to the activity would be a complimentary bottle of wine for your guest upon departure of the tour.

De Mondion Dinner

Looking for a Michelin Star Experience for your group? Look no further than the de Mondion Restaurant. Situated within the ‘Silent City’, the chef here provides an incredible experience that appeals to all the senses.

Using only locally sourced produce, this sustainable dinner venue is the perfect addition to your incentive trip to give your guests the dinner experience they deserve.

Malta has all of your major chain hotels – Hilton, Marriott, Radisson alongside the spectacular independently run hotels, such as The Phoenicia, hotel of choice by Her Majesty the Queen and the UK Royal Family.

Surrounded by idyllic grounds and providing dream worthy views over the Harbour, this is one hotel that is not to be missed.

With a range of both standard and suites available, a small group of 25 attendees would feel more than at home in this incredible hotel.

Due to its location, you can walk to external dinner venues or have an outdoor dinner within the historic grounds. Have a look below at the standard of food this quality hotel produces.
